Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2025

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the JourneyCard mobile application ("the app"). By downloading, installing, or using JourneyCard, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Personal Use Only

JourneyCard is licensed for personal, non-commercial use. You may use the app to track your own apprenticeship hours, generate reports, and manage your training records. You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, or make the app available to third parties as a service.

No Warranty

The app is provided "as-is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We make no guarantees about the accuracy, reliability, availability, or fitness of the app for a particular purpose. While we strive to ensure the app functions correctly, we cannot guarantee that it will be error-free or uninterrupted.

JourneyCard is a record-keeping tool. It is your responsibility to verify that all logged hours and reports are accurate before submitting them to your apprenticeship program, sponsor, or any regulatory body.

Data Is Your Responsibility

Your logbook data is stored locally on your device. We do not maintain copies of your data on any server. This means:

  • You are responsible for backing up your data regularly using the app's export/backup feature.
  • If you uninstall the app, factory reset your device, or lose your device, your data may be permanently lost.
  • We are not liable for any data loss, corruption, or inability to recover your logbook records.

Subscription and Billing

JourneyCard offers a free tier and a premium subscription (JourneyCard Pro). If you choose to subscribe:

  • Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  • Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's app store settings.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective refund policies.
  • A free trial may be offered. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will begin and you will be charged.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the app. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Attempting to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app.
  • Using the app to generate fraudulent or misleading apprenticeship records.
  • Interfering with or disrupting the app's functionality or associated services.

Intellectual Property

JourneyCard, including its design, code, content, and branding, is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the app without prior written consent.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, JourneyCard and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the app, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or missed apprenticeship deadlines.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
