JourneyCard ("we," "our," or "the app") is built with your privacy in mind. We believe your apprenticeship data belongs to you and should stay under your control. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Your Data Stays on Your Device

All logbook entries, hours, categories, supervisor information, and reports are stored locally on your device using an on-device database. We do not upload, sync, or store your logbook data on any external server. Your apprenticeship records are entirely under your control.

What We Collect

We collect minimal information, and only with your consent:

• Anonymous usage analytics (opt-in only): If you choose to opt in, we collect anonymous analytics through PostHog to understand how the app is used. This helps us improve features and fix issues. No personal information, names, or logbook content is included in analytics data.
• Crash reports: We may collect anonymous crash reports to help identify and fix bugs that affect your experience. These reports do not contain personal data or logbook content.
• Subscription information: If you subscribe to JourneyCard Pro, your purchase is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) and managed through RevenueCat. We receive an anonymous subscriber identifier to verify your subscription status. We never see your payment details.

What We Never Do

• We never sell your data to anyone, for any reason.
• We never share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
• We never store your logbook records, hours, or apprenticeship data outside your device.
• We never require an account or login to use the app.

Third-Party Services

JourneyCard uses the following third-party services:

• PostHog: Anonymous usage analytics (only if you opt in during onboarding or in Settings).
• RevenueCat: Subscription management for JourneyCard Pro. Processes anonymous purchase verification only.
• Apple App Store / Google Play Store: Handles all payment processing for subscriptions.

Data Retention

Since your logbook data is stored locally on your device, it remains there until you delete it or uninstall the app. We strongly recommend using the app's built-in backup feature to regularly export your data. Anonymous analytics data is retained for up to 12 months.

Children's Privacy

JourneyCard is designed for apprentices in registered apprenticeship programs and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
